 WELCOME TO THE TMC FORUM

The Traffic Message Channel (TMC) is a specific application of the FM Radio Data System (RDS) used for broadcasting real-time traffic and weather information. Data messages are received silently and decoded by a TMC-equipped car radio or navigation system.

The new association, TISA (Traveller Information Services Association) has now taken over the activities of the TMC Forum. TISA is a non-profit association of key players within the field of TMC, TPEG and traffic information. The current members come from a variety of sectors, i.e. service providers, receiver manufacturers, car manufacturers, map database suppliers, public authorities, broadcasters and other organisations.

The TISA mission is to be the focal point and authority for traffic and travel information worldwide, and to drive forward the market for TMC and TPEG products and services.

A new website for TISA is under development; in the meantime you can find out about the TMC Forum activities now supported by TISA, and other TMC information, here.
